Proudly a clean regatta

The Cup is proudly a certified Clean Regatta

Living and working in New Zealand is something the organisers of the regatta consider a great privilege, so protecting the beauty and natural heritage of our country is a no-brainer.

We're very proud to have teamed up with Sailors for the Sea this year to become a certified clean regatta. This means we're taking every step possible to make sure our regatta and everyone involved works in a way that's sustainable and minimises impact on the environment. Clean Regattas is the world’s only sustainability  certification for water-based events. The program  enables sailors to protect their local waters by empowering them with tips and resources to implement sustainability initiatives. Since  2006,  more  than 1,000 Clean Regattas have been run in 30 countries and in over half of all the United States.
