FAT FREDDY'S DROP AND THE WORLD FAMOUS RED SOX READY TO PARTY IN PALMAThe Superyacht Cup incorporating the Millennium Cup is lining up some great entertainment for each night after the sailing. While the racing for up to 60 superyachts in the Bay of Palma will be the highlight for the yacht owners and crews, there is no doubt that the parties on the dock will keep everyone entertained. The World Famous Red Sox are the rock stars’ own choice of band, playing at private parties for Paul Mc Cartney, Phil Collins, Bob Geldof and Brian May, amongst others, and they will be playing on three evenings of this unique sailing event. The Red Sox consist of four world class quality musicians who between them have accompanied some of the greatest names in popular music. With a well-known repertoire of over 300 songs covering 4 decades and a wonderful sense of fun, they are promising to make the dock rock! The VIP Lounge, located at the other end of the event site, will provide an alternative location for those preferring a quieter environment to enjoy the superb view of Palma and the impressive line up of yachts. For the final night on June 19th, Fat Freddy's Drop will top the bill for the Millennium Cup Ball and Crew Party. Natives of New Zealand, this band will make it an extra special night for all the Kiwis, continuing the theme for the sponsors of the day, New Zealand Marine. World-renowned for their improvisation, The Freddy’s blend of hi-tech soul and reggae appeals to all ages and nationalities and are an award winning live band, having won Best Live Act at the b-Net NZ Music Awards in 2004. A performance of traditional Mallorcan cultural music and entertainment is also planned for a spectacular finale to the four day event. The Superyacht Cup incorporating The New Zealand Millennium Cup is expecting up to 60 yachts from 30m to over 80m length overall. It will be held at Dique del Oeste in Palma, Mallorca, June 16 -19th 2007. The Millennium Cup was last held in New Zealand during the 2003 America's Cup and this will be the first time it has been held in Europe. Si los protagonistas son los 60 barcos de grandes esloras que estarán navegando en la bahía de Palma, para sus propietarios, la tripulación y todos los invitados, las fiestas nocturnas en el muelle también constituyen un gran atractivo. Ttres noches durante el evento actuarán los Red Sox, famosos en todo el mundo, la banda favorita de estrellas del rock como Paul Mc Cartney, Phil Collins, Bob Geldof y Brian May, que les eligen para sus fiestas privadas. Los Red Sox son cuatro músicos excepcionales acostumbrados a acompañar los cantantes pop más importantes del panorama musical de las últimas décadas. Con un repertorio de más de 300 canciones de los últimos 40 años y una maravillosa capacidad de entretener a sus fans, prometen hacer temblar el muelle entero. El área VIP, ubicada en el otro extremo del dique, ofrecerá un ambiente diferente y más tranquilo, para todos aquellos que prefieran gozar de las superbas vistas de Palma y de todos los yates, alineados a lo largo del muelle. La última noche, el 19 de junio, los Fat Freddy's Drop coronarán el baile final de la Millennium Cup y la fiesta de las tripulaciones. Los Fat Freddy's Drop, originarios de New Zealand, regalarán una noche especial a todos los "Kiwi's", continuando en la misma línea de los patrocinadores del día "Marina de Nueva Zelanda". El grupo, que ganó por sus actuaciones en directo un premio en el concurso musical b-Net de Nueva Zelanda en 2004, seducirá a espectadores de cualquier edad y nacionalidad por su estilo fresco. Música tradicional y entretenimiento típico mallorquino contribuirá a dar un final espectacular al cuarto día del evento. En la regata Superyacht Cup, que incluye la Millennium Cup de Nueva Zelanda, se prevé la participación de hasta 60 barcos de grandes esloras (de 30 a 80 m de largo). El evento se desarrollará del 16 al 19 de junio en el dique del Oeste de Palma y se trata de la primera vez que la regata Millennium Cup se celebra en Europa.
