Behind the scenes the Superyacht Cup Organization continues to prepare the Dique del Oeste Dock area for the arrival of the largest fleet of Superyachts in the Mediterranean. With the co-operation of the Port Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Tourist Authority and the Palma City Council the Superyacht Cup is aiming to show off the beauty, diversity and excellent facilities Palma and the Balearic Islands have to offer yachts and sailing enthusiasts. A Technical Committee has been set up which includes representatives of the government authorities, local businesses and services to bring together the various resources for a truly spectacular event. The dock is being prepared for up to 60 yachts to be berthed stern too, and the site prepared for a tented village, bar and catering facilities for the 2,500 expected participants and visitors.

Camper & Nicholsons have this week announced they will be sponsoring the Superyacht Cup VIP Lounge. The area will provide yacht owners and their guests, captains, sponsors and the media a comfortable area to chat and socialize on-site with full view of the line up of spectacular yachts on the dock. The Lounge, with its large terrace overlooking the dock area will also be the location for each morning's 'Race Briefing' for the yacht captains.

In addition, with Valencia and the America's Cup almost across the bay, having the Superyacht Cup Palma in between the Round Robin and the Cup will certainly provide the media and public with an interesting angle on the various forms of sailing competition - and fun too."

The Superyacht Cup incorporating The New Zealand Millennium Cup will be held in Palma, Mallorca, June 16 -19th 2007.

PALMA SE PREPARA PARA LA SUPERYACHT CUP Y CAMPER & NICHOLSONS PONDRÁN LA ZONA VIP

La organización de la Superyacht Cup continua con los preparativos en el muelles del Dique del Oeste para acoger a la numerosa flota de súperyates que se darán cita en Palma entre los días 16 y 19 de junio. Con la colaboración de la Autoridad Portuaria, la Cámara de Comercio, la Consellería de Turismo y el Ayuntamiento de Palma, la Superyacht Cup tiene como objetivo mostrar la belleza y todas las posibilidades que ofrecen Palma y las Illes Balears para los entusiastas de los yates y la navegación. Un Comité Técnico, integrado por representantes de las instituciones y de los colaboradores locales, es el encargado de tomar las decisiones de un evento auténticamente espectacular. El muelle está preparándose para la llegada de los más de 60 yates que se esperan. También aquí se instalarán una gran carpa con el village, el bar o el catering para los 2.500 participantes y visitantes que se calculan.

Las firmas Camper & Nicholsons han anunciado esta semana que esponsorizarán la zona VIP de la Superyach Cup. El área ofrecerá a los propietarios de yates, a sus invitados, patrocinadores y medios de comunicación un excelente lugar de encuentro para todos, con la visión directa de los espectaculares yates amarrados en el muelles. La zona, con una larga terraza, será también donde se celebrarán todas las mañanas la reunión entre los patrones.
